Love- it’s such a powerful word yet there is so many of us out there who don’t truly or fully understand it. If we look in the dictionary the word love is defined as: a deep, tender, passionate affection for another person…. this is the most common used definition. The first part of that definition is mostly true but it is not restricted to that. I remember clearly as if it were yesterday the very first time I truly understood and experienced true love. I was 7 years old and I was in the second row at church (i always love to be the closest I can to the altar…it’s the best place to worship). I knew in that moment that God loved me and that only He could make me feel what true love is and that He had loved me in such a way that no logic, dictionary or human being could ever make me understand… only Him! Only He could love me like that! And only He could help me love like that. I was 7 but I probably wept like a newborn because when you first experience that type of love it’s something so surreal, so amazing and so overwhelming. The only thing I could do was cry and smile, which may sound a little crazy, but it’s like that because what God offers can not be understood by those who don’t know Him. I’m so blessed to have been able to experience God’s love at such a young age because it really strengthened me and helped form the Warrior for God that I would have to be the rest of my life because no one is the exception to problems difficulties and temptations. There is one thing that we always need to remember and that is that love is the most powerful thing in the world…Gods love is the most powerful thing ever!
Now let me take you to an excerpt from the Bible completely dedicated to showing us just that type of love.
“Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.”
1 Corinthians 13:4-8a NIV
Most of the time this excerpt is read at weddings and such but this is the type of love that God wants us to have and not just towards our significant other but towards EVERYONE. Why? Because this is the type of Love God has for us…because God is Love. Just replace the word love with God in this passage and you’ll be able to understand just how great and powerful Love truly is and why it’s the greatest weapon a Warrior for God can possess. His word tells us loud and clear: Love(God) never fails!
So in the middle of the problems and tribulations just remember God loves you and you are worth everything to Him… that alone should be able to fuel you up to keep going and to keep fighting for that Kingdom come!
Now lastly I urge you to use this amazing weapon called love…. but how to process it? Easy accept it it has been freely given in the form of salvation “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”John 3:16. So today receive love accept love/Jesus I it your heart because salvation is the ultimate victory over the enemy and death.
